Mad Tea Party

Bianco and Valentino were thrilled when they came across the invitation from  ‘A Fanciful Twist’, caught in the 'intangible web'.

Both Jesters knew that Gilbert, (the dapper Frog), and Rupert, (the flamboyant Rabbit), would also be excited to don their fancy attire and take part in such an event.

They all agreed that it simply must take place deep within the Secret Enchanted Forest.

With its Enchanted Trees and twisted willow, it would make the perfect spot to host a

Mad Tea Party.

So, a long table was covered with a crushed velvet tablecloth, and set out beside the magical trees.
Fine bone china and fancy plates,
embellished teapots and teacups were brought
and laid on the table.

What a sight to behold!

Who had ever heard of such an event happening deep within the Secret Enchanted Forest??

A black velvet top hat and tails, and his favourite pair of spats, was in order for the dapper Gilbert, while Rupert tizzied himself up with a long brocaded coat embellished with tulle ruffles and sparkling jewels.
The jesters both donned their outlandish jester hats and twirly-toed jester shoes, to complete their elaborate outfits dripping with flounces and tiny bells.

Just on twilight,
as the full moon began to rise,
the forest folk were all astir
with anticipation and excitement about attending

A Fanciful Twist’s 3rd annual Mad Tea Party.

Overhead, ethereal fae peeped out, as tiny fairy lights sparkled through the twisted willow branches.

The curious, shy creatures ventured out of the woods to come and enjoy the festivities and all were having a jolly time, as Bianco told his silly stories and the little faeries watched on from the tree balconies nearby.

Tom Thumb couldn't believe the chocolate pudding was the same size as him.

The twins brought their pet ladybugs along to share in the fun.
Throughout the whimsical Forest, the idea caught on, and the mythical inhabitants soon gathered to form their own smaller Tea Parties.
The tiny residents of the 'Porchlight Pixies' Tree, (below) opened their door to join in the festivities.

And the faeries from the Mushroom Dell,
invited the butterflies and bees to join them.

Mr and Mrs Lizard would have a grand tale to tell the gumnut babies, about having attended a tea party, and not just your 'garden variety' tea party...but one in the Mad Hatter style, with the Elegant Faeries among the mushrooms.

(below: blowing faerie kisses)
With lots of delicious patisseries
to share, Russian Caravan tea to drink, and plenty of eye candy to feast on
this Mad Tea Party could go on for some duration.
The tree known as 'Sleepy Hollow', quietly whispers "thankyou" to Vanessa Valencia for the generous (though mysterious) invitation to this Mad Tea Party...and that he was looking forward to next year...when the Madness would happen again.

  28. Very magical, very enchanting, and so much fun to hang out with so many wonderfully whimsical creatures. I love the Jesters and the Sleepy Hollow. I have a love for trees and Jesters. I even enjoyed spending time with all the lovely fairies and elves. I could just stay all day and play, but I have to run, run, run to make it to everyone and everywhere elses and places, and all sorts of times... Thank you for letting me stop in and trust me when I say, I will be back again... Please stop by when you can and visit for tea, and some mad and crazy antics that are such a sight to see.

  29. Victoria! This is absolutely the most enchanting forest I have ever seen! Where do I even start? It's just fabulous! The dolls, the trees, the table with all of its goodies, the splendid backdrop... everything is perfection. Did you make all of those wonderful toys? If so, my hatter's hat is off to you, and if you didn't, you have some wonderful little friends there. Very shiny objects, indeed. Careful, though, a magpie's eye is on them. ;-)

Thanks for inviting us to your party. It was delightful...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

P.S. While I realize that "most" magpies are black, I'm blue because I pinched some color from the bluebird of happiness. With you being an Australian and probably having seen the other variety, I felt I should clarify. ;-)

Well thanks for the invite, and also thanks for stopping by my party as well ! I hope you stop by again soon !
