Time for Tea??

TIME.
There just doesn't seem to be
enough of it
to go around this year.

I always seem to have
 too many things
on the go.

UFO's I call them.
(Un-Finished Objects)

and a squillion creative ideas
roaming my head,
(which make it difficult to go to sleep at night)

But as busy as I seem to feel,

I could not let this year go by

without an attempt at a

 Mad Tea Party

posting.

above, is my ooak Mad Hatter Art Doll

The surreal and highly imaginative Vanessa,
has had a doosey of a year also,
but always manages to put on quite a spred.

She is my inspriation.

Her hosting of the annual

(cyberspace) Mad Tea Party

is something I
wouldn't want to miss...

"Not for all the tea in China".

 So my Mad Hatter

and little Alice

have enticed me

to set up a small Tea Party,

together with my

March Hare and Doormouse.

As well as a lovely cup of tea...

there is nothing I like more

than a great

quote.

So, I went hunting and gathering
a few of the best
'TEA' quotes
for you to enjoy.

"Come, let us have some tea and continue to talk about happy things."

~Chaim Potok

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceromony known as afternoon tea."

~Henry James

"Another novelty is the tea party, an extraordinary meal in that, being offered to persons that have already dined well, it supposes neither appetite nor thirst, and has no object but distraction, no basis but delicate enjoyment."

~Anthelme Brillat-Savarin

"Tea pot is on,
the cups are waiting,
favourite chairs anticipating.
No matter what I have to do,
my friend there's always
time for you."

"There is no trouble so great or grave that cannot be much diminished by a nice cup of tea."

~Bernard-Paul Heroux

Well, I must say,
it HAS been
delightful
to just sit and savour a cuppa with you...

Slowing down to a snail's pace...
and
just enjoying your company.

Hope you have enjoyed your visit!

Be sure to wander over to

for the rest of the Mad Tea Parties that are being held.
(bearing in mind, that her Mad Tea Party is in Arizona, USA...so it might be a little behind our time. 15 hours I think?)

(Love to you, Vanessa
and thanks, once again, for hosting your famous Mad Tea for us to join in)

Take your time and see.

Cubby House

Ellie: "I know. I got a good idea!"

Nanni: "What's your good idea?"

Ellie: "Let's build a
cubby house!"

A special place to hide away in and play.

With soft, sheer walls and fairy lighting.

And we can eat yummy nibblies...

And play games on Nanni's iPad...

...and take a wee nap.

Doesn't take but a few minutes to achieve such a special cubby house.

All you need is an ironing board and some chairs. As well as a few sheets and a string of fairylights.

Ta Dah!!

This particular cubby is a little larger than the usual one we build, which is made up of a long piece of string, a sheet, and a set of fairylights.

Rainbow Royale

"What kind of

birthday party

would you like?" Ellie's mother asks.

(Miss Ellie turns

four this year)

Wonder what would she love...?

Miss Ellie's Answer...

"A

RAINBOW

Party!"

So seeing as she missed out altogether, on a party last year,
her wish was granted.
Well if it's good enough for the Queen of England...then it's grand enough for Miss Ellie.

A

Rainbow Party

it is then!!

Ellie's very
clever and creative
parents made all those
yummy food thingys
that you can see,
while I did the decorating,
with coloured paper,
glue and thread.
Different sized large punches
were used to
create the circles,
and were then
stitched together
on the sewing machine.
The bunting was made from a pad of coloured paper and string.
I punched out small dots and glued them onto the triangles that I had cut out.

The gorgeous
jellies
were made over a period
of a few days.

Ellie's father, made the cake!
(told you he was clever!)

Lots of love
and effort went into baking this masterpiece...

AND it tasted
so

DELICIOUS!!!

Ellie's comment
at the end of the day...

"THIS was the BEST birthday party EVER!"

Macaron madness

After (virtually) going to Paris again,
(via Anita's Paris Party links)...
I was ever more curious as to how those French macarons tasted.
It seemed like everywhere I turned ...THERE was another picture of those pretty macarons.

You know, ...I have always wondered if I would ever get to taste them, as I have never seen them in real life...here in Australia.
It seemed like they would always stay just a little dream of mine.

Then the other day, I wandered into Woolworths.
I am a 'Coles' kinda girl (flybuys!)
so I do not usually venture into 'Woolies'.

To my utter surprise and amazment
THERE THEY WERE!!!

I simply could NOT walk past without grabbing a box of these curious thingys.
Not knowing if they were a biscuit or a cake...I just had to satisfy my curiosity.

AND YES!...they had come all the way from France!!

By now,
I was feeling all giggly inside.

I couldn't wait to get home to taste one!

But wait I did...so I could first take a pickie of them!
So I would have a memory of what they really looked like.

I soon learned that they would all be different flavours.
I had always thought that they were just coloured differently, for pretty effect...and would probably all taste the same.
I had also thought, that like most sweets, they would not be very flavourful...as most sweets always looked way better than what they promised to taste like.

So I was UTTERLY gobbsmacked to learn that YES! they did indeed taste GOOD!

I am still not too sure if I would class them as a biscuit or a cake...but whatever they are...I ADORE them!!!!

THESE GROGEOUS LITTLE MORSELS
have an ever so thin outer crust that is crisp!
and an inner that is fluffy and so soft!!
Then there is the creamy bit right in the middle... slightly chewy...and YUMMY.

SUCH a shame that it has taken me over 50 years to discover these delicious macarons.

Do yourself a favour and hunt and gather a gaggle of them for yourself...
you will NOT be disappointed.
